Tropical Smoothie Cafe® Launches Sunshine for Teachers Recognition Program and Will Award Over $100k in Prizes

One Teacher Will Win a $10k Summer Getaway* —19 More Will Receive Cash and Prizes—Plus Rewards for Their Schools and Nominators!

Tropical Smoothie Cafe® kicked off the Sunshine for Teachers recognition program to reward and honor up to 20 inspiring educators who are spreading sunshine in their classrooms and communities. In May, one grand prize winner will receive a summer getaway worth up to $10,000 and free smoothies for a year. Parents, teachers, families and the school community are encouraged to nominate their favorite teacher at www.sunshineforteachers.com.

On April 28, up to 20 finalists will be announced and will move on to a public vote. After the voting period ends, one grand prize winner and up to 19 first prize winners will be named. The prize breakdown is below.

    • Grand prize winner will receive a $10,000 summer getaway and free smoothies for a year.

    • First prize winners will each receive a $1,000 cash award and free smoothies for a year.

    • Each of the grand prize and first prize winners’ schools will receive a $1,000 donation and a smoothie party.

    • Plus, the nominators of all grand prize and first prize winners will receive free smoothies for a year.

All prizes are subject to the terms and conditions described in the Official Rules.

    • Nominations may be submitted between February 28 and April 1, 2025.

    • Teachers can self-nominate or be nominated by someone else.

    • Finalists will be notified April 28 when a public voting period opens to coincide with Teacher Appreciation Week.

    • The grand prize winner will be notified approximately 5 business days after the public voting period ends during a school celebration the week of May 12.
