Sherise Loeffelbein, Principal of Palmer Public School in Palmer, Nebraska
“We have had issues accepting all of the students who want to get into Palmer because the growth in areas Sherise Loeffelbein is a part of have been so effective that they’ve grown to the bursting point. We have had to turn some students away because we were at capacity; there have been waiting lists!”
Sherise Loeffelbein started out in the special education classroom. She later finished her administration degree while advocating for her students sand coaching a fall varsity sport. As an administrator, she’s known for treating all staff and students in a welcoming and courteous way that fosters trust, growth, team building, all while encouraging excellence. Loeffelbein also became the Director of Special Education and continues to make a difference for SPED students and educators.
As principal, Loeffelbein has been developing programs to reach both students and staff. Recently, the Palmer community experienced a loss of community daycare options, creating a last-minute panic, as the closures happened near the end of the school year. That summer, Loeffelbein and the district built an early childhood program from the ground up, and Loeffelbein took the necessary measures to become a daycare director so the school could alleviate some of the load on local daycares. This helped the community and it also helped feed more students into the school system.
