Exploring Epigenetics & the Cutting Edge of AI with Eli Davis

Eli Marshall Davis is a 2024 winner of the Excellence in Equity Awards for educators in the Champion of Equity – Special Educator category. He is an Interventionist at Hemphill Elementary in Birmingham, AL, where he sits on the leadership team and chairs the MTSS/Problem Solving Team committee. He is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of South Carolina, focusing on Teaching and Learning, with research interests in social justice, epigenetics, and the transformative potential of AI in education.

In this episode, we discuss Eli’s philosophy of education; Epigenetics, intergenerational trauma, and their relevance to educational environments; AI in marginalized communities to support schools with teachers who did not go through teacher preparation; and why AI is an opportunity to be at the forefront of something great.
